Review Time

So, since it’s the end of the year, it’s review time at work. Yippie.

They want us to rate our managers. Well, which one? I have (more or less) three bosses. They all have faults. (Who doesn’t? I know I do too.)

Do I tell them what I really feel about the lack of managment around here?

Hrm…

Christmas

Christmas

Lots of people have lots of different feelings about Christmas.

Personally, I like Christmas. I like buying things for people, but I need to get an earlier start. I like decorating for Christmas; the lights, the tree, etc. but I would like to do more of it.

I don’t know where I am going with this blog entry. Nowhere?

Anyway. Liz’s family is coming over to do Christmas at our house next Saturday (a week early.) Then on Christmas Day we will go to my sister’s house to do Christmas with my family. I think it’s fun to do Christmas twice.

Anyway, we are hosting again because we have a big house. I don’t mind hosting. I like cooking for a lot of people. I bought a 15 pound turkey last night (hopefully it will be thawed by Saturday.)

It should be a good time.

Where am I going with this blog entry again?

Moving Content

I’m taking a page from Coolleen, and moving my old blog content over here.

It might take a bit, as I have more old content than she did.

Update Well, that didn’t take as long as I thought.

All the old content is here now (if anyone cares or reads this.)

This is da bomb!

Wow. Thanks Sean! This blogging software is the shizzle!

Sean at work was bored today and went out and found this blogging software.

Wow. Very nice. Much nicer than the stuff I was using before. Maybe I’ll even use it more than I was.

The more I play with it, the more I like it. Whee!

Voting

I went in to vote this morning. What a mob scene. The line zig-zagged through the huge room and then went out the door and onto the sidewalk.

I left. I’ll go back again after work and stand in line.

I’m definitely going to bring a book.

Weekend Stuff

Did a bunch of stuff again this weekend.

Spent most of Friday at my kid’s school working with a group of parents to get them to not close the school.

Saturday I put new brakes in my Neon R/T. New pads and rotors all around. It was a pretty easy job as brakes go and it stops really nice now. (The old rotors were a little warped in the front.)

Then Sunday I worked in the basement and of course went Trick or Treating with the kids.

Whee.

Big Update

Well… This is going to be a really big blog entry. I haven’t updated it for a while and a lot of stuff has happened since the last update.

First off, on Wednesday the family went to the Chanhassen Dinner Theater and saw ‘Annie’. I was expecting something much more sappy than what we got. It was quite entertaining and not at all what I was expecting.

Then the next night Liz and I went to the Jungle Theater and saw ‘Recent Tragic Events’. As you might expect it was about the September 11th terrorist attacks. It was set on September 12th and was very good. The first act was quite amusing and the second act was very sobering. There was a lot of stuff about free will vs. predestination and freedom to act vs. feeling that you have to do certain things. I enjoyed it very much.

Friday we decided to go to IKEA and look at bunk beds. We all thought it would be cool to get bunk beds for the kids so they could have space underneath for a desk or dresser or such. We wandered around, looked at beds and talked about it. We didn’t buy anything because the van was in the shop. Continue reading →

Few Updates

Looks like I’ve been getting lax about updating this again. I’ll try and get better (for all two people who are probably reading this.)

Yesterday I went over to my parents house and worked on reinstalling the radiator in their bathroom.

The bathroom is the project from hell. I’ll write more about it later.

Anyway, I got the piping done and the subflooring reconstructed. I might be able to install the radiator before the tile gets replaced. I think I’ll go over and see today if that’s possible.
