Whee.
I was naughty the other day and joined the Columbia House DVD club again. I got 7 DVDs for $27 including shipping!
I got:
The real reason I joined again is because if I get five people to sign up too, I get a free iPod. Supposedly this is a valid deal.

It has come to my attention that I have not blogged since Jan 31st. 16 days ago.
It’s not that nothing has been happening, just that I haven’t been writing about it.
Just lazy I guess.
Well, I had a weird dream a couple of nights ago. I dreamed that I was still working at American Mold (which I left six years ago and has since closed it’s doors) and still driving my 86 Honda CRX Si.
I loved that car.
Anyway, in my dream I was goofing around in my CRX in the parking lot at American Mold and I managed to slide the front wheel into the curb.
The wierd part was that the rim then busted in half, right down the middle. So I had to get a new one. I grabbed the yellow pages and started calling junk yards.
They all wanted $800 for one rim! Outrageous!
Then the dream ended. Weird.
Liz is going out of town for a week – to the Tuscon Gem Show that she goes to every year.
That means I get to be Mr. Mom.
Not a big deal. Especially now that the kids are getting older. But it means that I have to do all the kid-carting and such myself now.
Wheee.
Should be a fun week.
Added another track plan to my site.
Did some other stuff this weekend, but don’t feel like writing it up.
Blah.
I have another track plan on my Trains Page now.
I think this one is getting close. I’m going to print it out and noodle on it. Have to make sure I can get cars onto all the spurs and see what I want to do about scenery.
This might be a long entry…
On Friday it snowed. The first real snow of the season. I think we got between 4-6 inches. It started snowing around Noon and when I finally left work at 4:00 it was a mess.
It took me an hour and 40 minutes to get home. Normally a 20 minute drive. What a pain.
So I shoveled the snow Friday night (after Liz has already shoveled the snow once. But it was still snowing.
I got up on Saturday and shoveled again. It wasn’t bad, the wind had actually blown most of the snow off the driveway (for a change.) Then I went go-kart racing!
What a hoot that is. There were 20 guys there and we ran two qualifiers first. I had the 5th fasted lap time (out of 10) and was getting pretty consistantly better each lap – for a change.
So for some reason they give me the poll position on the final race! Woot!
When the race started I managed to stay in first or second place for the first 8 laps! I was feeling pretty good when I went into a corner two abreast. Then someone behind tagged me and sent me into the wall. Where I got stuck. And everybody passed me.
Sigh.
No way was I going to catch anyone. So I finished last. Poop.
But my fasted lap of the day was the second lap after the crash! I was pissed and drove my ass off!
Man that’s hard work. I need more upper body strength.
Charles posted his photos here: Charle’s Photos
Unfortunately, I forgot my camera. 🙁
So much for my resolution.

Well, $1018.00 later and I have my car back. And that was after the coupon for $145.00 off and the four $50.00 gift certificates.
Sheesh.
At least it’s running good now. I do like that car.
And the washed it! It’s pretty when it’s clean. But that won’t last…
So as I was walking the three blocks to pick up my car from the local garage, after walking two blocks to pickup my kid at her school, I realized how much I really love the area that I live in.
Everything is here and it’s all in walking distance.
Local car shop – three blocks.
Roz’s school – two blocks.
Grocery store – five blocks.
Another grocery store – seven blocks.
Drug store – seven blocks.
Really good hardware store – two, one three blocks away and one six blocks away.
Coffee shop – damn there are a lot of those.
Liquor store – six blocks.
Really good resturant – see coffee shop.
My parents house – eight blocks.
Best Co-op in Minneapolis – 12 blocks.
Guthrie Theatre (but it’s moving) – 15 blocks.
I really love this part of Minneapolis. If I wasn’t so lazy I’d walk everywhere.
I really ought to start walking more. Come the summer, I will. Maybe I’ll even start grocery shopping with the little red wagon. I’ve been wondering what to do with it, and that’s the answer!
I have a wiki running on my server (among other things.) I mainly use this wiki to keep a collection of links that I like – so I don’t have to try and sync my favorites and such.
Well, since it’s a wiki, and since I didn’t bother to turn on any authentication, it got whacked the other day.
What happened is that someone ran a search to find wiki pages. This is the search that they used: http://www.yisou.com/search?p=FrontPage+RecentChanges+\
FindPage+HelpContents+&lang=all&f=&d=&u=&source=&b=840
My wiki turned up fourth in the list and since I didn’t have any ACL on it, they replaced the page with 65K of Korean spam. (All links to some site that looked like downloads for cell phones.)
Luckily the wiki keeps a backup, so I could recover it.
