I’m putting my modified Shapeoko 1 up for sale. Since I have a Shapeoko 3 now, I don’t really need the S1 anymore.
It’s a great starter machine and quite capable of milling hardwoods at reasonable speed and with good accuracy. I was getting +/- 0.005″ with a little careful work.
This machine started out as a stock S1. Here is a partial list of upgrades (what I can remember):
- 1000mm Y axis
- Dual Y motors
- Double X axis rails – fastened together
- All motor mount plates upgraded to Shapeoko 2 plates (stiffer)
- Z axis Acme screw drive (I also have parts to make the Z screw belt driven, but have not installed them)
- Limit switches on both ends of all axes, including Z
- Motor pulleys moved to outside of plate
- Belt routing changed to more than 200 degrees of pulley wrap (no slipping)
- Custom belt tensioners
- 2′ x 4′ MDF table with 1/4-20 inserts on a 3″ x 3″ grid
- Shielded motor and limit switch wires
- Cable carriers
- GT2 belts and pulleys
Includes
- Rigid trim router with new bearings
- New custom aluminum router mount parts – I got the S3 before I got around to installing them
- Arduino
- Grbl shield
- Grbl pin breakout shield
- Power supply
- Dust shoe
- Misc spare parts
Effective milling envelope is 27.0″ x 7.4″ x 4.2″
I am not willing to disassemble and ship it. I can deliver it in the Minneapolis/Saint Paul area and surrounding suburbs. Further out is possible but there will have to be a fee. (I drink beer and Scotch… 🙂 )
Price: $800 negotiable
