Ever since I was a kid I have loved trains. Particularly steam engines and mainly Great Northern equipment. Probably because the GN line runs through Glacier Park – my favorite place.
I had a monster layout in my room as a teenager, but it was never finished and I don’t think I ever ran a train on it. My friends tore it down one summer while I was in Montana. Hmm…
Ever since then I have been “armchair rail roading” – mostly collecting rolling stock kits and structure kits. I was building them occasionally, but had no where to run them.
But now… I think I’m going to start building a model railroad in the attic. The wife has approved it and I think I have almost everything that I need.
I hope to be able to involve the kids in this venture too.
